Bullying Basics
FACT: The Journal of the American Medical Association reports that over 1/3 of our children have experienced bullying-either as a victim, witness or both. Although children rarely admit to being bullied the problem exists in every school and community. But because it is prevalent does not mean that it is normal or healthy-or something that children will just 'grow out of'. Bullying and name-calling is at epidemic proportions and are often the root cause of violence in schools.

FACT: Bullying is about power.
Bullying is not a rite of passage to be endured.
No one knows your child better than you do.
                  Teasing and name-calling is bullying.

FACT: Bullying is NEVER OK.
